Volunteers & Parents

Volunteers are what makes a club a community.

Volunteers are the backbone of our community netball club. From committee members who provide leadership and direction, to coaches who support and develop our players, every role helps keep the club running. On home game days, volunteers in the canteen or on the BBQ help create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all. Shifts at fundraising events or on behalf of the club at SHNA events are equally important in supporting the club behind the scenes. Each contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital part in our success. When everyone pitches in where they can, our club continues to thrive both on and off the court.

Team Duties on Game Day

Each game day, teams need help filling three roles: scorer, timekeeper and primary carer. These will be shared across the season so everyone only helps a few times. Games can’t go ahead unless these roles are covered, so thank you for supporting your team.

Scorer

Records goals scored and centre passes during the match and checks the score with the opposing team. Ensures the final score is accurate and submitted at the end of the game.

Time Keeper

Keeps track of game time, injury time and/or quarters breaks. Works with the umpire to ensure the game runs to schedule.

Primary Carer

Provides basic first aid and care to players if an injury occurs during the game. This role may be filled each week by a team manager or assistant coach and must hold a current WWC check.
